Q1. Why should I study PGDPM?

PGDPM (Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management) is a prestigious professional qualification in the field of personnel & HRD. NIPM's PGDPM enjoys wide reputation in this country and abroad. It is the only institution in this field representing India in the international arena. Around 3200 students have already passed out of this Institute. Many of them hold key positions in Public & Private Sector.

Q2. What can I do with Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management?

Q3. What is the structure of the course?

PGDPM is of  2-year Distance Learning course, recognized by Government of India and several  State Governments for recruitment in Welfare Officer under Factory Act.

Examinations are conducted twice a year, in June and December.
Q4. What types of entry tests are there and when are they held?
A4

Direct Admission: Entry Test is not required to take admission in the Course. Candidates possessing Degree Course with minmum of 50% of marks or Masters/Law/Engineering/Medical/Agriculture/MBA etc. degree and those who are professionally qualified as Chartered/Cost/Management Accountants etc. or in case of candidates having 3 years working experience in HR profession or 5 years working experience in Industry are eligible for direct admission.

Candidates should have 20 years of age at the time of application.

Q5. What is the course content of PGDPM?

Q6. What documents are to be submitted with the application at the time of registration?

School Leaving Certificate or Admit Card containing proof of age.
Other certificates - certificate of graduation, certificate of Masters Degree or other qualification as mentioned in the answer to Question No. 4.
Q.7. What is the admission procedure for PGDPM course?
A.7.

Students interested to admit in the course should buy one prospectus of Rs. 550/- inclusive of Rs.50/- as postage  which contains full details of the syllabus,  procedure, fees structure, procedure of examination and application forms for registration. The Application Form should be filled up and sent alongwith attested copies of certificates together with course fee and examination fee. Total course fee is Rs.18000/- which covers study materials for all the papers if paid at a time or Rs.10000/- for each installment in case of installment fee.

Q.8. Is there any coaching class facilitiy for PGDPM?

Coaching class facilities are available in some of the NIPM Chapters. But attending coaching classes is not compulsory.

Q.9. Is there any distant learning facilities for PGDPM?
 

PGDPM is a distance learning method of education.

Q10. Is it a course recognised by Government of India?
A10.

 The Diploma is recognised by Government of India for the purpose of recruitment to superior posts & services under the Central Government and also by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Goa, Bihar, Tamilnadu and Punjab as an approved qualification for appointment as Welfare Officers under the Factories Rules. The PG Diploma is again recognised by the Bihar University and the Andhra University, Waltair and University of Kerala as equivalent to Masters Degree.

Q.15. How can I determine my renewal / non-renewal notification date?

Q.16. What are the criteria for life membership ?
A.16.
Corporate Members may apply for Life Membership on payment of Life Membership fee. Any Individual eligible to become a Corporate Member may directly apply for Life Membership on payment of Life Membership fee and the entrance fee.
Q.17. Can I change my membership type ?
A.17.
Yes, an Associate Member can be a Corporate Member by upgradation on application and Corporate Members can be Life Members on fulfiling the laid down criteria vide Regulation 4(vi & vii).
Q18. To whom I have to contact for changing membership category?
A.18.
To change the membership category one should apply to the Chairman/Hony. Secretary of the respective Chapters or the Hony. General Secretary of the Institute.
Q19. What are the duties and responsibities of a member?
A.19. To follow the Memorandum and Articles of Association & Bye-laws of the Institute and the Ethics.
Q.20. Can any member attend the general meeting of NIPM?
A.20. Only Life and Corporate Members are eligible to attend the Annual General Meeting.
Q.21. What are the subscription charges for various memberships?

All subscriptions and entrance fee will have to be paid by a bank draft in favour of ‘National Institute of Personnel Management’ payable at Kolkata, and sent to the National Office at Kolkata. However, in case of outstation Cheques, bank charges of Rs.80/- have to be included additionally.
Q.22. Once removed from the membership, for instance,can I readmit here?
A.22. Yes.On clearing the outstanding subscription.
Q.23. Can a member have voting right?
A.23. Only Life and Corporate members have voting rights.
Q.24. When can I enrol for membership?
A.24. Any time in a year.
Q.25. Can a member purchase NIPM journal?
A.25. Members get quarterly NIPM Journal free of cost.

Q.29. Can I get the latest publication of NIPM?
A.29. On payment of cost of P.T. Journal by DD in favour of NIPM in the following manner : Per year Rs. 300/- per copy Rs. 100/-. The cost is subject to modification.
